The Assassin’s Creed movie is coming in December, next year

20th Century Fox’s Assassin’s Creed film has finally a theatrical release date. Still, you’re going to have to wait until the end of next year to see it. Fox stated today that the film, based on Ubisoft‘s popular video games and starring Michael Fassbender, will come in theaters December 21st, 2016. The film was originally planned for August 7th this year, but was pushed back late last year.

The Assassin’s Creed movie stars Michael Fassbender, who was part of the most recent X-Men movies, Prometheus and Inglorious Basterds. It’s directed by Justin Kurzel, who made the gruesome Australian crime movie Snowtown.

The project was originally announced in 2012 and there have been rumours that Robert Downey Jr might make an appearance.
