The listing, which was spotted by Massively, may be a placeholder, but it’s still rather precise – and on a Tuesday which is when 99% of games are released in North America.
TESO was originally slated to arrive on PS4 and Xbox One in April 2014 alongside the desktop versions.
It was delayed to June 2014 before being pushed into late 2014. Last December, game director Matt Firor said the team at ZeniMax Onine was “steadily working” on the console version which was already at a “playable and fun” state at the studio.
“There’s still some work to do before we can set an official launch date,” wrote Firor in the director’s letter. In the letter he reiterated that the console versions of ESO were “not just ports” of the PC and Mac MMO, and that the PC user interface has been replaced with a console-specific UI designed from the ground-up with “a controller and a living room play experience in mind.” The MMO was recently pulled from EB Games shelves in Australia.
