Final Fantasy VII Remake – It will be episodic!

When Square Enix announced a Final Fantasy VII remake at E3 2015, it was a great result for the company, who had to get back on its legs especially after the 2014 PlayStation Experience‘s failure of announcing a Final Fantasy VII port, which is barely more than a sloppy PS1 port to the PS4. Sadly, the rollercoaster ride is continuing, because there’s something new announced about the remake…

Tetsuya Nomura and Yoshinori Kitase announced that the Final Fantasy VII remake won’t be available in one piece… initially. Why? The game is planned to be in an episodic format! This was previously the case with FF IV: The After Years, but we have no idea about how Square Enix will pull this off with VII. No other information has been revealed outside the „each entry providing its unique experience.”

We don’t know the pricing and the first episode’s release date either. However, we do know about another developer participating in development; it’s going to be CyberConnect2, the team behind the Naruto games. Still, we are a little let down by this announcement.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)

There is only one question; will this episodic form work correctly in the Final Fantasy, or we will get another black sheep?
