Call of Duty Black Ops III and the PS4 both ruled November

NPD has published the 2015 November sales data. The total industry spend is up 2% year-on-year. Hardware and accessories up, software down. New-gen hardware going gangbusters (22% raise, 93% sales in total for the month), but last-gen and portable dropping fast (76% fall). This might be possible due to not having a new Pokémon game out for the 3DS as was the case at the end of 2014.

The PS4, the Xbox One, and the PC put together over 3 million sales just in November, but Sony‘s and Microsoft‘s console grabbed 2.8 million. Surprisingly, the PlayStation 4 won November, despite the Xbox One‘s first-party game sales going up by 72%.

These were the best-selling games in the United States in November:

  •     Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
  •     Fallout 4 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
  •     Star Wars Battlefront 2015 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
  •     Madden NFL 16 (PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3)
  •     NBA 2K16 (PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3)
  •     FIFA 16 (PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3)
  •     Need For Speed 2015 (PS4, Xbox One)
  •     Halo 5: Guardians (Xbox One)
  •     Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
  •     Just Dance 2016 (Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS4, PS3)

These games were the top selling PS4 titles on the PlayStation Store:

1     Call of Duty: Black Ops III

2     Fallout 4

3     Star Wars Battlefront

4     Need for Speed

5     The Order: 1886

6     Wolfenstein: The New Order

7     Rocket League

8     The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

9     Battlefield 4

10     Assassin’s Creed Syndicate

11     EA SPORTS FIFA 16

12     Grand Theft Auto V

13     Destiny

14     Sword Art Online: Lost Song

15     Wolfenstein: The Old Blood

16     Far Cry 4

17     Borderlands: The Handsome Collection

18     J-STARS Victory VS+

19     Ultra Street Fighter IV

20     Madden NFL 16

And these were the best selling PS4 DLCs:

1     Call of Duty: Black Ops III – Season Pass

2     Bloodborne The Old Hunters

3     The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited – ESO Plus

4     Fallout 4 Season Pass

5     Rocket League – Back to the Future Car Pack

6     STAR WARS Battlefront Season Pass

7     Destiny: The Taken King

8     Rocket League – Revenge of the Battle-Cars

9     The Crew – Wild Run

10     Rocket League – Supersonic Fury

This means that Call of Duty Black Ops III totally annihilated the competition, including Fallout 4 and Star Wars Battlefront. We wonder what EA thinks about this result, it looks unlikely that Battlefront gets 13 million sales by April 2016!

BO3 is the best of the BO series, so I do not suprised so, but I thought, the second will be the BO and the first will be the Fallout 4… I think Fallout is better than BO.
