Shodan Returns, and It’s Glorious [VIDEO]

Night Dive Studios is working hard to make the Remastered Edition of the first System Shock game as successful as the original was back in the nineties. The remake will use the Unity engine, and it’s going to have modernized graphics and user interface. Both things are expected from a remake.

Night Dive’s description is short but sweet: „After 20 years, we are remastering and re-imagining the original System Shock. We will keep the new game true to the classic experience, keeping all the things you loved, while updating the user interface and graphics to use a modern day engine (Unity).” The remake should be out in 2017 on Xbox One and PC – we can’t judge too early about this project.

Aside from the first game, System Shock 3 is also in development at Night Dive after receiving the permission to make a new installment. Warren Spector of Deus Ex fame also joined the team to work on the new game.

Soon, the Kickstarter campaign will launch. Until then, have a look at a pre-alpha build. It was shown off at the GDC.

Also, Shodan looks quite dangerous on this website, isn’t it?
