eSport is becoming more and more popular. Even people who you think they wouldn’t be associated with this sport start to get involved in it. This is the situation right now!

We’re talking about Shaq-A-Rod-Rollins. Shaquille O’Neal was successful in basketball while Alex Rodriguez is a well-known baseball player. The trio is complete with Chicago White Sox’s Jimmy Rollins.The three of them bought a stake in NRG ESports: this company runs League of Legends and Counter-Strike teams. However, it wasn’t NRG who started this initiative! Instead, the sportsmen contacted them about this deal. The amount of money put into this deal isn’t announced.

TMZ reports that Rollins is apparently a League of Legends player himself in his free time – that’s not a hobby we thought he would have. Still, the Shaq-A-Rod-Rollins idea isn’t new; previously, Rick Fox, former Los Angeles Lakers player, has bought Gravity Gaming at the end of 2015.

eSports is becoming more and more commercialized. Is it going to be a good thing in the long term?
