Activision will bring us a game right in the middle of summer heat, although it’s still unlikely to be a high-quality title. Unfortunately, the rule of thumb that „a game adaptation of a movie is destined to be mostly garbage” will probably continue.
So we’re going to get a new Ghostbusters movie (whose idea was that, again?), and it will also get a game adaptation on July 15 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game will continue the plotline of the movie, so it’s pretty much a video game sequel. That’s a double-edged sword: if the movie is going to flop at the box offices, who would even care about how the story continues? However, if it ends up being a success, people would be more likely to pick the game up.
The four rookie will provide a four-player cooperative gameplay. Each ghostbuster will have different strengths and weaknesses. The comments under the video mostly say that this is going to be a pointless, weak cash-in.
Perhaps Activision can make us eat that humble pie…
