Jory Prum Has Passed Away [VIDEO]

Tim Schafer, one of Jory Prum‘s close friends, has announced that Prum has had a fatal motorcycle accident. You might not be familiar with his name, but his music/sfx could be memorable for you as he has had worked on multiple popular games in the past.

Prum worked at LucasArts, Double Fine, and Telltale Games. The American audio engineer, sound designer, has had his hands (or ears?) in multiple games. To name a few: Escape From Monkey Island, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Brütal Legends, The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Grim Fandango Remastered. Prum wasn’t just involved in games – he also worked on Pixar’s For The Birds, which ended up winning the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2001.

Jory Prum left us at the young age of 41 – he’s now making sounds in his studio up above. Let’s listen to Grim Fandango Remastered‘s soundtrack, which was a collab between him and Peter McConnell.

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
