[UPDATED] Massive Surprise At The End of the Final X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer!

MOVIE NEWS – UPDATED – The American Youtube trailer was just uploaded! – ORIGINAL STORY – The final X-Men: Apocalypse trailer was just released. It’s the perfect use of the previously existing footage: it sets up a huge battle between Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) and the young X-Men, who are now trained by Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) to help save a captured Charles Xavier (James McAvoy). But this one has to be watched until the very end. We’re still waiting for an official version of the trailer, but tweeted by the very man, THIS just happened%

So, yes, Wolverine is indeed in this flick! There have been rumors out already about him, and Fox finally let the mutant cat out of the exceptional bag. Young Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) tells Raven (Lawrence) that they had a little help wiping out the forces of Apocalypse. And suddenly out of the shadows pops three razor-sharp claws. Weapon X is in the house.

This also means that Hugh Jackman is back as Wolverine. This very Tweet from the man himself confirms it. We have heard rumors of Jackman visiting the Montreal set of X-Men: Apocalypse and Wolverine possibly being added to the final cut through reshoots.

Anyway, here’s the full trailer:

Still, it’s unsure how this works out. Apocalypse is set in the 1980s, which means that Jackman has to play a younger version of Logan: a version that’s even younger than when we met him in Bryan Singer’s first X-Men movie!
How will the movie makers counter that problem? Will it be the same type of CGI that they used on Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen in The Last Stand? Or will this Wolverine be a deformed, experimental version of Weapon X, trying to break out of Stryker’s lair?

This is a huge chance for the series to retrofit Wolverine into this reconfigured, strange timeline. But to do that, they need to cast a younger actor, because Jackman’s nearly at the end of this time as Wolverine.
Maybe that’s what they actually did? Perhaps the very reason, why Hugh Jackman shared that image above, is that, but he hides because he’s NOT playing Logan, this time, out? The biggest news about X-Men: Apocalypse is that they recast younger versions of seemingly every major hero, from Cyclops to Jean Grey and Storm. Has Fox and Bryan Singer been sitting on a new Wolverine, as well?

This would allow Wolverine to be an important part of the X-Men plans, and also allow Jackman to get one last stab at playing Wolverine in Wolverine 3, which we reported is being set in the future. Time will tell.
