Milla Jovovich, Lucy Liu, Snoop Dogg to Join James Franco in the Sci-Fi Future World

MOVIE NEWS – Lucy Liu, Snoop Dogg, Method Man, Suki Waterhouse and more enter the cast of director/star James Franco‘s Future World. Method Man (Keanu), Lucy Liu (Kill Bill), Suki Waterhouse (Insurgent), Snoop Dogg (Meet the Blacks), Margarita Levieva (The Lincoln Lawyer) and Jeffrey Wahlberg are playing alongside James Franco and Milla Jovovich in the post-apocalyptic thriller Future World.

James Franco is also directing the movie alongside Bruce Cheung, with Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi’s AMBI Pictures producing together with Franco‘s Dark Rabbit Productions.

The movie will play on the barren landscape of a post-apocalyptic world, where a young Prince from the Oasis (one of the last known safe-havens) with a robot named Ash are going on a daring journey of self-discovery – one that winds through the violent and desolate world of the Wastelands.

Bruce Cheung and Jay Davis scripted the screenplay, from an original story by Franco. The release date is still unknown by the AMBI Group, and we are unaware of when production may begin.

AMBI Group, the movie development, finance, production and distribution group owned and run by Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi, is funding the film in association with the Fyzz Facility and Black Sparrow, and producing with Dark Rabbit Productions. Producers are Iervolino, Monika Bacardi, Vince Jolivette and Jay Davis. AMBI Distribution, the worldwide sales arm of the AMBI Group, is handling global sales. Here’s what Andrea Iervolino had to say in a statement.

“Future World is a mesmerizing story with the kind of boundary-pushing creativity unique to James. When you have the combined talents and gravitas of Milla, Lucy, Method Man, Suki, Snoop, and James interwoven through a wild story – what unfolds on screen is unreal. This is going to be a fun project that plays universally.”

The film marks the second collaboration in the last year between Iervolino and Monika Bacardi’s AMBI Group and James Franco. They teamed to produce In Dubious Battle, the feature film adaption of the classic John Steinbeck novel, which Franco also directed and starred in alongside Selena Gomez, Vincent D’Onofrio, Robert Duvall, Ed Harris, Bryan Cranston, Nat Wolff, Josh Hutcherson, Zach Braff, Analeigh Tipton, Ashley Greene, John Savage and Sam Shepherd. Stay tuned for more casting updates on James Franco‘s Future World.
