Why Was Criterion’s Extreme Sports Game Canceled? [VIDEO]

The developers of Burnout took an extreme turn in game development two years ago, and they showed a video of their prototype at E3. Criterion threw everything into the mix: helicopters, boats, wingsuits; it seemed to be a different thing from them.

However, Electronic Arts has confirmed that the game’s canceled. Criterion is also focusing on the Star Wars license: they are collaborating with DICE on the PlayStation VR-exclusive Battlefront game.
Yep, you read that right: that’s why Criterion’s game went from the planning boards to the recycle bin. Only the video below our article remains as the only memory of this IP.

Hopefully, Ubisoft’s STEEP, which is set to hit the PlayStation 4/Xbox One/PC trio in December, will be able to make up for the lost Criterion game.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
