We don’t know much about the Nintendo NX – all we hear about the new platform are rumors around the internet. Despite the rumors, Shigeru Miyamoto, one of the essential people behind Nintendo, has talked about virtual reality.
„We’re continuing our research and development, bearing in mind how our current products are supposed to be played over a long period. We seek opportunities to provide an experience that accounts for a short period, and how to eliminate the concerns over long periods. We also want to ensure that parents shouldn’t worry if their children start using a VR headset in the living room. This year, I was out at the E3, and I didn’t experience that VR was a commonly talked topic. This might be possible because virtual reality is not interesting for the spectators, even if it can provide good entertainment for those who try it out. How the experience can be transformed into a product is not clear either.”
As Tatsumi Kimishima, the president of Nintendo has stated that he believes VR is a promising technology, we might expect the big N to join virtual reality.
