The new God of War game will not have fixed camera angles, making this change one of the many differences from the previous Kratos adventures.
Sony Santa Monica wants to have a dynamic, seamless transition between cutscenes and the gameplay. The camera will follow us closely, which, according to Sony, is going to improve the personal aspect of the narrative, plus the combat will look differently, too. (We don’t believe that the devs will skip the brutal execution cutscenes, though.)
According to the Santa Monica studio (the developers of the game), this change will provide them a fun challenge. One of their biggest challenges is to make bigger enemies threatening and more imposing. That approach was used for designing the troll, the enemy we saw at the end of the E3 presentation.
God of War is changing, which should keep the critics of the franchise silenced until the game is in the stores. Kratos and his son are moving to the PlayStation 4, and we can’t wait to plop the result’s Blu-ray into our console hopefully by the end of 2017.
