Gwent: The Witcher Card Game – CD Projekt RED: Would Appreciate Cross-Network Multiplayer

The Witcher‘s developers saw such a rousing success in the Gwent card game that they decided to make a standalone game for it.

Gwent, which was announced at E3, will get a closed beta (here) for Xbox One and PC in September, but the Polish developers want more. They’d like to achieve cross-network multiplayer. Remember; Microsoft tore the gates down between the X1 and PC, so Rocket League players on these two platforms can play against each other, but the PlayStation 4-players are locked away from the other two platforms. CD Projekt RED‘s CEO; Marcin Iwiński hopes that Gwent will be able to get cross-network multiplayer by the time the open beta arrives. „Ultimately, it’s for the players, right?” – says Iwiński.

Mind you; CD Projekt RED is in a different league than Psyonix, the devs of Rocket League. Maybe Sony will notice their request to at least get rid of the limitations in Gwent. However, Rocket League players might do a petition if that happens.

Hopefully, Sony will finally respond to Microsoft’s invitation.
