Ubisoft detailed For Honor‘s closed alpha, the heroes, and the game modes.
For Honor, which will have a closed alpha from September 15 until September 18 (when the servers close), it will be available on all three platforms for the lucky players. Ubisoft also confirmed that the PC port would be handled by Blue Byte, who previously developed Anno and The Settlers games.
There will be four classes: the Vanguard (the average), the Assassin (fast, low HP, good in duels), the Heavy (the tank), and the Hybrid (advanced build with a range of abilities). All three factions will make them different: for example, the fastest Vanguard will be the Samurai (Kensei), followed by the Knight (Warden), and the slowest Vanguard will be the Vikings’ Raider. (More details at Ubiblog.)
All twelve unites (don’t forget, three factions with four classes – 3 X 4!) will have a different look, but players will be able to customize them. Choosing their gender, the color scheme, the cosmetic appearances – these will all be possible.
We also learned about five multiplayer modes. Dominion will be a 4v4 battle over control points with AI grunts, Brawl is a 2v2 elimination mode, the same applies to Elimination but with 4v4, Duel is obviously a 1v1 mode, and Skirmish will be a 4v4 deathmatch.
For Honor is out on February 14 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
