1.5 months away from Sony‘s virtual reality headset launching, the Japanese company began a developer diary series.
It will likely receive a new episode every week, making the final, fifth episode release at the end of September. The dev diary goes around the development and the history of PlayStation VR, and the first installment focuses on the early days when it was called Project Morpheus. Sony was far from the finalized form of the headset, and the specs weren’t all set in stone either, so everyone was about to face uncertainties.
The virtual reality hype train starts now, and it will stop on October 13 when the PSVR hits the stores. The PlayStation VR doesn’t need a strong PC like its direct competitors (the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive), only a PlayStation 4, the camera and optionally the Move controllers for a few games.
Will we hear new details on September 7 at the PlayStation Meeting about the PSVR?
