Call of Duty enters the world of virtual reality.
Don’t worry, though: it’s not like the 2017 installment will be VR-exclusive. Instead, players who purchase the PlayStation 4 version of Infinite Warfare will receive an extra. This bonus mini-game is called Call of Duty Jackal Assault.
The free PlayStation VR-exclusive title allows us to hop into a Jackal fighter jet, which sounds like the game will be similar to Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One X-Wing VR Mission: a first-person perspective shoot’em up. Jackal Assault feels like a test from Activision to see how much interest is out there for VR – maybe they would implement VR-segments into future Call of Duty games?
And that’s all we know at the moment outside the video below. The release date is „later this year”, so it might not launch on November 4 when Infinite Warfare drops on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Announcing the Jackal Assault, a Call of Duty @PlayStation VR experience, coming free for all PS4 Infinite Warfare players.
