New Resident Evil: The Final Chapter Movie Trailer is Here

MOVIE NEWS – Sony just released a new international movie trailer for the next Reisident Evil action movie, due to be out in 2017.

In this new trailer, we get a closer look at the evil Dr. Alexander Isaacs, who is played by 2001 Tomb Raider and Game of Thrones actor Iain Glen. Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts) can also be seen in the new trailer. Additionally, we learn a little more about the story and its extremely high stakes; the fate of the world will apparently be determined.

The Final Chapter will hit theaters exactly on January 27, 2017. Milla Jovovich will play Alice, beside Ali Larter as Claire Redfield and Ruby Rose in the role of Abigail. The movie is once again directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, who made all of the previous Resident Evil movies with Jovovich, his wife.

While during a New York Comic-Con panel, Anderson teased that The Final Chapter will be the scariest movie in the entire series, this trailer seriously looks just like any other action-horror flick in the Resident Evil series. Jovovich also stated that it will have the best, more surprising death sequences. Journalists asked Anderson and Jovovich whether The Final Chapter is indeed the last movie in the series, but neither confirmed outright that it was. Still, the movie will tie up some loose ends from the earlier films, as it brings things “full circle,” Jovovich explained.

Paul W. Anderson‘s very first Resident Evil film was 2002’s Resident Evil, which was followed by Resident Evil: Apocalypse in 2004. Resident Evil: Extinction came next, in 2007, while its successor, Resident Evil: Afterlife, debuted in 2010. Resident Evil: Retribution, the latest film in the series, premiered in 2012. According to Box Office Mojo. Every movie was a financial success: they made more money than the last with the exception of Retribution.

In case of Anderson and Jovovich sayong goodbye to the franchise after The Final Chapter, there is always the possibility that the series could live on with a different director and cast.
