Capcom Will Support Street Fighter V For Longer Than Expected

Despite Street Fighter V‘s somewhat weak performance, Capcom has plans with its fighting game for a longer period.

In his interview with Famitsu (translated by Event Hubs), Yoshinori Ono, Street Fighter V‘s executive producer said that they have planned out things for the game until 2020 or so, which means the Unreal Engine 4-using PlayStation 4 / PC title will keep getting new content for a few more years.

Ono also talked about the chances of Capcom developing a new non-Street Fighter fighting game before that franchise receives its new installment: „I’d be happy if we could. But first, we’d have to solidify Street Fighter V as an eSports title. I said in the beginning that we’d seen a higher number of entrants than we had in the Street Fighter IV era, but we’d like to heighten that even further. The more people participate, the bigger tournaments we can host, and the more people are going to watch them, which is directly connected with our sales, and that’s going to decide the future.”

2020? Will the new Xbox and PlayStation launch around that time?
