DICE‘s game is about to get a bigger update.
Similar to Overwatch’s PTR, Battlefield 1 will get CTE, which is Community Test Environment for short. One of the new additions that the CTE can bring is the password servers, which would only allow those play on our servers if they know the password, locking out strangers from our matches. This information was hinted at by Ali Hansoon, one of the producers at DICE on Twitter.
CTE was part of both Battlefield 4 and Hardline, so DICE knows what they should be doing with this interface… although in both games, it appeared just months after the release.
There’s a possibility that the first Battlefield 1 DLC (They Shall Not Pass) will bring the CTE and the password servers in March, or it may arrive a few weeks before the DLC. It’d be about time by that point, though.
Until then, we can sit down and play a new game mode under Custom Games. Armored Kill mode puts a bigger focus on vehicular warfare (and thus, they will spawn more often), although it bids adieu to the Scout Class. In case you played Battlefield 3, you will be entirely familiar with this new mode. Now is the time to hop into a tank!
@Jakey401 We’re on it, its very close to being final but we might test it in the CTE prior to release.
