An AAA title rarely produces such results.
Take-Two Interactive’s recent financial report says that the fourth best-selling game of all time (75 million shipped copies) sold MORE copies in 2016 than in 2015! As Grand Theft Auto V got no ports last year (the PC version came out in the Spring of 2015), it doesn’t explain this outstanding result.
While the single player, which still doesn’t seem likely to get DLCs (while supporting mods on PC), the online component, Grand Theft Auto Online has become a massive success for Rockstar, who in turn continue to update it regularly.
However, what about Red Dead Redemption 2‘s Red Dead Online? Is it going to be a rival? Take-Two’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick explains that it’s not going to be competing against Grand Theft Auto Online. Still, it doesn’t explain why he didn’t have any sales predictions for the game which is due to launch this year on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One…
