Kazunori Yamauchi: „Gaming Should Be Considered As True Sport” [VIDEO]

The father of the Gran Turismo franchise is quite hopeful regarding the latest installment, Gran Turismo Sport.

Yamauchi has given an interview to RedBull.com, and he said the following: „We are excited to partner for this official FIA world championship because gaming deserves that. It’s a true sport, it deserves to be treated like a true motorsport, and we want to be at the forefront of that.”

He has a point: Gran Turismo Sport will have two FIA-sanctioned championships – one for the manufacturers, one for the Nations -, and while you cannot participate in these, you can follow along with GT Sport Live. This mode will offer almost something like a TV program for the races, complete with live commentary.

Gran Turismo Sport, which has its closed beta in North America at the moment, will hop across the pond shortly to Europe. If the game isn’t out this Spring, you can definitely expect it to show up at Sony’s E3 event.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
