Assassin’s Creed Creator’s Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey Is No Longer Episodic [VIDEO]

Patrice Desilets – without him, Assassin’s Creed wouldn’t exist, so it’s not a surprise that we’re waiting for his game!

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, which is developed by Panache Digital Games, was announced two years ago, and unfortunately, we didn’t hear much of it. However, we now got a brand new teaser, as well as a lot of new details about the game. For starters, it is not episodic anymore! (The following details were originally written by VG247:

The game is currently playable but isn’t ready to release anytime soon. Panache does have a date in mind for release so it’s not a “ship when it’s ready” affair.

According to Desilets, „it’s a third-person action adventure game set 10 million to 2 million years ago”, mostly in Africa, with resource management and survival elements, and it might also have cannibalism. There may be other tribes and conflicts with them, too. The same animator who created Ezio in Assassin’s Creed and the Prince in Prince of Persia is working on the characters of Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.

„It’s the first time I’ve created a character who interacts with the jungle. There are no walls. What’s the light like? I’ve never worked on that before. There’s no sword, no swordfights. Have fun with the toy I’m giving you, and you’ll create the story of your ancestors,” Desilets says.

There is a 32 staff team working on the game in Montreal (except on Mondays), and he’s okay with women involving in development: „If the candidate has a dick he’s not hired. I’m not telling the story of humankind only with guys. It didn’t happen that way. You need to make babies.” The only downside is that 1666: Amsterdam is currently on hold. Still, we can’t wait for the game to be available!

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
