Sledgehammer wants to return to the basics.
This year’s Call of Duty is heading back to the past, which means the futuristic approach is gone… for 2017, at least. This move explains why Sledgehammer has hired Martin K. A. Morgan to work on the game. He’s a historian, specialized in World War II, and he already gained experience with Medal of Honor: Airborne in the past.
WWII will be about „ordinary people doing extraordinary things,” and its story will „weave in and out of real historical events.” Meanwhile, the experience wants to be „emotionally dark, but visually beautiful.”
Call of Duty: WWII is out on November 3 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and it will have a season pass, as well as an advantage for the PlayStation 4-owners with the beta, and the release dates of the future DLCs.
