Sony: Horizon Zero Dawn „Changes Everything”

Shawn Layden says that Horizon Zero Dawn‘s success has to be taken into consideration.

Layden’s interview with Glixel had the following comment: „Of the 3.4 million copies of Horizon we sold, about 915,000 were digital. This kind of shift changes everything. It changes the publishing model, it allows smaller players to put out games, it affects DLC, and it has a huge impact.” (Affecting DLC? Does that comment mean that we will get even more?)

He also talked about being involved with indies, and the PlayStation VR: „We still work with a lot of indies, but it’s slowing down. It ebbs and flows. We’re seeing a lot of indie activity in VR because they can do meaningful content with smaller teams there.”

The shift was expected to happen, but still, we see a ton of indie games in the PlayStation Plus freebies each month. Not in June, though!

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
