Arkane Studios’ President Steps Down!

Raphael Colantonio, the president and co-founder of Arkane, is leaving the industry behind.

The announcement showed up on Bethesda’s blog, where Colantonio, who founded Arkane in 1999, said the following: „It is time for me to step out to spend some time with my son and reflect on what is important to me and my future. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the best and brightest people in the industry, and I feel extremely lucky to have been part of this journey with everyone at Arkane.”

He also reacted to the ZeniMax acquisition in 2010 (this company also owns Bethesda): it gave them „the opportunity to emerge as a world-class studio. ZeniMax enabled us to make the best games that we’ve ever made. And I know there is even more to come.”

Seeing how he spent over two decades in the industry (having worked for Electronic Arts before founding Arkane), we don’t know if Colantonio will return or not. Still, best of wishes to him!

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
