Ubisoft Opens New Studio, Hires Ex-Battlefield Producer [VIDEO]

Ubisoft is opening a new studio, and the company also gains workforce from its rivals.

The French company has already been in the country, as Malmö-based Massive (the developers of The Division) is another Swedish team, and the new studio is going to be in Stockholm. The studio’s boss is going to be someone who spent fifteen (!) years at Electronic Arts’ DICE. He’s none other than Patrick Bach, who worked on several Battlefield games (including 1), as well as Star Wars: Battlefront.

Ubisoft Stockholm is going to work together with Massive (which happens to celebrate its 20th anniversary this year) on AAA titles, as well as the recently announced Avatar game. According to Ubisoft‘s press release, the team should be consisting of a hundred people in two years.

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
