Wolfenstein II will not care about recent political events despite it being somewhat political.
Jens Matthies, the game’s creative director, had an interview with PCGamer, where he said that the game got a somewhat political approach simply due to the Nazis taking over the United States. It doesn’t mean it has to care about recent events, though. For MachineGames, the emphasis was on to display show „how mainstreet America would have looked like” if the Germans won the war. In the sixties, there was a cultural revolution happening, which, combined with the new location (Wolfenstein never had a US setting), can result in an exciting game according to Matthies.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will have both new and returning characters, so Anya (BJ Blazkowicz’ wife), the Kreisau Circle (the rebels from the first game), and Frau Engel (craving for revenge) will be accompanied by new faces in the game, which launches on October 27 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
