Marc Laidlaw, a former writer at Valve, has revealed how the episode, which we have been waiting for almost a decade (!!!) could have happened…

You can read the story on his website with gender-swapping, but WCCFTech has switched things back to normal to read. According to the plot, Gordon Freeman would have traversed Antarctica after his plane being shot down. He’d find an Aperture Science ship called Borealis, which blinks in and out of time and space. He’d board the ship, where a fight would happen, and the ending would have left a lot of unanswered questions: Mossman dead, Alyx disappearing with the G-Man, with the Borealis being useless against the Combine…

You might say that it’s a fanfic, but remember, Laidlaw said back in June that he wanted to tie up the plot threads related to Half-Life 2, which would somewhat explain the ending.

Also, Valve turned twenty-one two days ago. 2+1 = 3. We say nothing else…
