PlayStation Store: These Were The Best-Sellers Last Year!

A quick recap of both the European and the North American charts.

Let’s start with the European lists – these were the best-sellers on PlayStation 4:

1 FIFA 2018
2 Call of Duty WWII
3 Rocket League
4 GTA V
5 Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy
6 Horizon Zero Dawn
7 ARK: Survival Evolved
8 FIFA 2017
9 EA Sports UFC 2
10 Rainbow Six Siege
11 Destiny 2
12 Battlefield 1
13 Minecraft
14 Star Wars Battlefront
15 The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
16 Ghost Recon Wildlands
17 Gran Turismo Sport
18 Star Wars Battlefront 2
19 Battlefield 4
20 Assassin’s Creed Origins

Football has defeated the FPS genre: FIFA 2018 finished in front of Call of Duty: WWII. Rocket League and Grand Theft Auto V are followed by Crash, who in turn beat Horizon Zero Dawn, ARK: Survival Evolved, and… FIFA 17? (Do we love football this much?) Destiny 2 is not in the top 10, and nor Gran Turismo Sport, neither Star Wars Battlefront 2 could crack it either!

Let’s take a look at the PlayStation VR charts:

1 Batman Arkham VR
2 Superhot
3 Job Simulator
4 PlayStation VR Worlds
5 Until Dawn: Rush of Blood
6 Robinson: The Journey
7 Keep Talking & Nobody Explodes
8 Driveclub VR
9 Sports Bar
10 Arizona Sunshine
11 The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR
12 Apollo 11 VR
13 Cocos: Shark Island
14 I Expect You To Die
15 Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul
16 Statik
17 Fruit Ninja VR
18 Carnival Games
19 Everest VR
20 The Brookhaven Experiment

Notice how Skyrim’s VR version didn’t reach the top ten, while a 2016 game, Batman: Arkham VR, managed to pull in 2017…

Don’t forget about the PlayStation Vita:

1 Persona 4 Golden
2 Assassin’s Creed III Liberation
3 Minecraft
4 God of War Collection
5 Killzone Mercenary
6 Tekken 6
7 Gravity Rush
8 Rayman Legends
9 Street Fighter X Tekken
10 FIFA 15

That list looks sad… but the football craze somehow put FIFA 15 (!) into the top ten.

Finally, a look at the best-selling PlayStation 4 DLC:

1 Call of Duty Black Ops III – Zombies Chronicles
2 Battlefield 1 – Premium Pass
3 Rocket League – Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Car Pack
4 Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege – Year 2 Pass
5 Horizon Zero Dawn – The Frozen Wilds
6 Fortnite – Standard Founder’s Pack
7 Rocket League – The Fate of the Furious Ice Charger
8 Diablo III – Rise of the Necromancer
9 Rocket League – Supersonic Fury DLC Pack
10 Rocket League – Fast & Furious ’99 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34

Rocket League packed in four spots, while Black Ops III’s new DLC beat Battlefield 1 to the punch… and Horizon Zero Dawn got to the top half of the list.

Meanwhile, the North American PlayStation Store charts are massively different! Look at their PlayStation 4 top ten:

1 Call of Duty: WWII
2 Destiny 2
3 Friday the 13th: The Game
4 Horizon Zero Dawn
5 Grand Theft Auto V
6 NBA 2K18
7 Rocket League
8 Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition
9 Madden NFL 18
10 Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands

FIFA is nowhere to be found, but its place got taken by NBA and Madden – both sports games are popular in North America. Destiny 2, Friday the 13th, and Ghost Recon: Wildlands charted higher (in fact, F13 didn’t even reach the top 20 in Europe…), and Call of Duty won.

PlayStation VR charts:

1 Job Simulator
2 Superhot VR
3 PlayStation VR Worlds
4 I Expect You To Die
5 Batman: Arkham VR
6 The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR
7 Fruit Ninja VR
8 Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
9 Until Dawn: Rush of Blood
10 Driveclub VR

Another big change from the European list, aside from two games showing up on the podium again… but Batman: Arkham VR fell back, while Skyrim came forward. Nothing else needs to be said.

PlayStation Vita top 10:

1 God of War: Collection PS Vita
2 Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom
3 Jak and Daxter Collection
4 Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition
5 Persona 4 Golden
6 Salt and Sanctuary
7 Need for Speed Most Wanted
8 Ratchet & Clank Collection
9 Star Wars: Battlefront II
10 PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale

We’d like to ask how Battlefront II claimed the 9th place here. What the hell is that? That’s… weird.

Finally, the PlayStation 4 DLC charts:

1 Call of Duty Black Ops III: Zombies Chronicles
2 Destiny 2 – Expansion Pass
3 Call of Duty: WWII – Season Pass
4 Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds
5 Battlefield 1 Premium Pass
6 Black Ops III – The Giant Zombies Map
7 Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege – Year 2 Pass
8 Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – DLC1 Sabotage
9 Diablo III: Rise of the Necromancer
10 Call of Duty: MWR Variety Map Pack

Call of Duty claimed half of the charts, with Black Ops III’s DLC winning, and Destiny 2 got the second place.

You can see how different European and American players’ taste in gaming could be with these lists…
