There are rumors that a different team might be handling the re-release of Dark Souls.
Bandai Namco announced last week that the first Dark Souls game is getting moved to three platforms (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and the PC will also receive the new version), but the developer wasn’t announced. However, Laura Kate Dale, who formerly knew a lot about the Nintendo Switch, also talked about Dark Souls Remastered before and after its announcement.
She wrote the following on Twitter : „The PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC versions of Dark Souls Remastered are, to some major degree, being worked on by QLOC. FromSoftware may be doing some work, but certainly not all of it.” QLOC? This Polish team previously was responsible for ports of several games, such as Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, God Eater Resurrection, God Eater 2: Rage Burst, and Resident Evil 6. They also were involved in Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, and DmC: Devil May Cry.
As Bandai Namco has not confirmed anything yet, we should wait and see if this rumor is true… but seeing how the publisher has already worked with QLOC several times, it might be true.
Dark Souls Remastered is out on May 25 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
