It's Official: The Next Gran Turismo Is Already In Development!

Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of Gran Turismo (and the head of Polyphony Digital), confirmed that the next installment is in the works.

In his interview with the Japanese publication Game Watch (which was translated by WCCFTech), when he was asked about the more adjustable car settings in Gran Turismo Sport, Yamauchi replied that he thinks it will be „in the next GT.” Are there already concrete plans for the new Gran Turismo game?

Yamauchi can’t go into details yet, but he added that the development has started after the launch of Gran Turismo Sport in October. He doesn’t know how it will be numbered. It might not be called Gran Turismo 7, then. Interesting decision.

So, it’s official that they are already working on a new game. However, don’t expect it to be announced by Sony or Polyphony Digital this year.
