Resident Evil 2 Remake: Why Did Ada Wong Go Under A Makeover?

The character who debuted in Resident Evil 2 two decades ago gets a facelift. How come?

Kazunori Kadoi, Resident Evil 2 Remake‘s director, talked with Eurogamer, and he explained the reason behind Ada’s style change: „It goes back to the same thing of, what would look natural to be wandering around in a photo-realistic environment in? I think wandering around in that dress just getting on with your job as a spy probably doesn’t look as realistic and believable as we want in this new game.”

Ada’s looks aren’t clear yet – she was seen as a silhouette in the latest teaser. You can see that on the right side of the image below, while the left side shows her original PS1 concept art (via ResetEra). Kadoi says her looks will not „betray our expectations.” We’ll see about that. A trench coat, eh?

Resident Evil 2 Remake will launch on January 25 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
