Ninja Theory Is Working On A Star Wars VR Project! [VIDEO]

The three-episode series dubbed Vader Immortal is being developed with the Oculus Quest in mind.

First, we should explain what the Oculus Quest is: it’s a standalone VR device which will not need a PC, or any wires. It’s going to launch next Spring, and it will cost 400 US Dollars. You can have a look at its announcement video here.

Oculus Studios and LucasFilm are making Vader Immortal, and it will be an Oculus Quest-exclusive. It’s going to have a canon story, written and directed by David S. Goyer (Call of Duty: Black Ops, The Dark Knight-trilógia, Star Wars: Secret of the Empire), and it will happen between the Revenge of the Sith and The New Hope movies.

Going by the trailer, it looks like the game will have some lightsaber battles, but you might ask: what’s Ninja Theory (who was acquired by Microsoft in June) doing with the game? Well, ILMxLAB’s immersive content’s director, Mohen Leo, confirmed that the team who previously worked on Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is on board as a consultant.

Vader Immortal is out next year, exclusively on Oculus Quest.
