Spacelords' Developers Also Work On The PlayStation 4 Cross-Play

Spacelords, which was previously known as Raiders of the Broken Planet, is a free-to-play shooter (since the rebranding), is also going to get cross-play with the Xbox One players on PlayStation 4, if we can believe MercurySteam, the developers.

The team confirmed to WCCFTech that they are collaborating with Sony Interactive Entertainment to implement cross-play on PlayStation 4: „Spacelords currently features cross-platform gaming between PlayStation 4 and Steam, and Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam. Technically, expanding cross-platform gaming to all platforms is relatively easy for our team to implement, and very desirable too for a game like ours – having a strong, unified community that can play together is key to Spacelords’ continuing success. We are working in cooperation with SIE to allow cross-platform play for Spacelords, and we aim to update everyone on that shortly.” They will likely roll out an update on the PlayStation 4 version soon.

The game’s player base has increased tenfold since the August free-to-play rebrand, and in the past thirty days, over 400 thousand matches were played. Not a bad result…
