Google’s Source Code Contains A Secret Adventure Game!

The search engine’s source code contains a popular genre from the eighties.

Google‘s page’s easter egg showed up on Reddit, and we don’t know how long has the text adventure game been in there. If you use Google Chrome, go to Google, search for „text adventure,” then hit Ctrl+Shift+I (or CMD+option+I on Mac), or, if you use Firefox, Ctrl+Shift+K.

In the web console, you’ll see the „Would you like to play a game? Yes/no” text, and if you type yes, the game will start. Your mission will be to find the missing letters in Google’s logo. The movement is relatively simple (north, south, east, west), and you only have two other moves (grab, inventory). However, the game isn’t an easy nut to crack – other players took roughly one and a half hours to complete it.

A Reddit user believes the game is set near one of Google‘s buildings, which isn’t surprising. Having such an easter egg, however, is extraordinary!

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
