Control Will Have Familiar Voice Actors [VIDEO]

In case you played Max Payne 1-2 or Alan Wake, you might recognise a few voices.

James McCaffrey and Matthew Porretta, the voice of Max Payne and Alan Wake respectively, will join Courtney Hope, the voice of Jesse in Control (or Beth in Quantum Break). Sam Lake, Remedy Entertainment’s creative director, thinks this team is an all-star cast for them: „We have our previous director of the bureau, Federal Bureau of Control, Zachariah Trench. He is played by James McCaffrey, who is the voice of Max Payne. To me the process was like, we have this secretive government agency, and you know we want this hard-boiled, cynical, older guy, as the director of this place. Then we started thinking, well maybe as a younger man he was a cop, or a fed, and this hard-boiled man of action who must now be pushed up the ladder to be the director. Who would be perfect for a role like that? Well yeah, James was a natural fit for that.” The twist here is that Trench will be a dead character throughout the game…

Lake didn’t explain Porretta’s role, though: „Matt is playing the head of research, the main scientist of the bureau, Dr Casper Darling. Who more than anything looks into these unexplainable phenomena that the bureau deals with and is trying actively to push the known reality further.”

In the new developer diary (which would be the fifth one by now), Lake, Hope, McCaffrey, and Eevi Korhonen, the narrative systems designer, talked about a few characters. Thus, we learned that Trench would be „someone with a lot of layers,” and also „someone with their agenda.”

Control is set to launch next year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
