Is Microsoft Already Thinking about the next Xbox pad?

The North American company registers four patents for an improved revision of its already outstanding command.

One of the key points with each generation by Microsoft has been an incredible improvement that they have seen cycle to cycle their controls. For many, and since the time of the Xbox 360, the best pads in the world. On this occasion, everything indicates that they have advanced design for the command of the next cycle of machines, which is still known by the name of Xbox Scarlett for them.

Specifically, we say it because they have registered up to four patents in the Justia index, all of them accessible from this link, and for which it is planned to incorporate, among other things, an “adjustable voltage of the triggers through a force-feedback motor”. Something that would be of tremendous use for speed video games so that the game transmits the resistance or fluidity of the vehicle in certain situations.

What all the patents make clear is their intention that their different characteristics “improve the immersion” of the player with video games. Something that would be easy to achieve in driving games or action with that resistance or smoothness of the triggers depending on the playable situations with which we are.

There are several more improvements planned for the Xbox One control itself and, by instalments, if all of them are specified, it seems logical to think that they would be implemented in the next generation pad. Of course, the fact that a patent is registered does not mean by an obligation that it is going to materialize in something tangible, but it does allow us to clearly conclude that, at least, new versions of the command are being considered.
