Bethesda is planning something, and shortly, we might be able to find out their plans.
On Twitter, Wario64 has posted that Bethesda has a placeholder listing on Amazon for a game in standard, deluxe and collector’s editions. The links are not working anymore, so we won’t bother with them. However, the site still has a countdown video, which is free-to-use stock footage, but Bethesda has previously used something similar to Fallout.
Is it going to be a new Fallout game? No – Fallout 76 came out in November, and it wasn’t that good. Also, Bethesda has confirmed that their next two games will be Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI, meaning there’s no chance or capacity for something else. Thus, it’s possible that an older game is going to get a current-gen re-release.
Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas came out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 aside from the PC, so the company might be doing something with them. They previously brought The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to the PlayStation 4/Xbox One (and PC again…) under the name Special Edition, so doing something with Fallout could be reasonable. (But why is there a deluxe and a collector’s version then?)
Bethesda is silent, but they got caught. All we can do now is wait.
