Will The Next-Gen PlayStation VR Headset Be Wireless?

A new patent filing in Japan might hint at Sony possibly creating a completely wireless device as the new PlayStation VR.

The current PlayStation VR has issues, we have to admit it. The fact that it requires cables is one of its problems. Sony tries to come over this problem with its next virtual reality headset device IF the Japanese company tries to create what the patent mentions.

There could be a breakout box which would help a wireless headset to change the frequency used to transmit data to make said headset have a stable and constant connection (which, let’s face it, is necessary). The frequency would change between 5 and 60 GHz, and the smaller frequency would serve as the backup.

However, such a patent registration doesn’t always mean that Sony would use it in the PlayStation VR 2 (If it’s going to be its name… we’re guessing.). Still, going wireless is a great idea, but it needs to work properly, too.
