A trailer shows this video game based on works such as Divinity, XCOM, Mass Effect or Dragon Age.
A few days before the start of Gamescom 2019, the Polish Event Horizon studio has unveiled Dark Envoy, a promising RPG that is inspired by works such as the Divinity series, XCOM, Dragon Age, Mass Effect or FTL. A cinematic trailer already lets us see how this PC video game looks for a nonlinear narrative.
“Explore the world using a flying ship as an operations centre,” reads the official Dark Envoy note. “Enter mythical places and procedurally generated dungeons with optional tactical objectives.” Players will have to choose wisely the group of adventurers who will explore these places as there will be numerous dangers to escape from.
Dark Envoy bets on turn-based fighting, which is combined with real-time preparation sequences in which you must organize and prepare the troops well. The player’s choices will have consequences in the game world, which can “be saved or destroyed”, so there will be multiple outcomes for his story.
There will be 15 unique character classes to turn to, and you will be able to freely combine the skills of these heroes. Players can face the action alone or enjoy the cooperative for two people. There will also be a mode called Player vs World in which the second player embodies the final enemy that must hunt the hero before he becomes too powerful.
Dark Envoy plans to release on PC, Xbox One and PS4 in late 2020.
