Cyberpunk 2077 – Let’s get the obligatory pun out of the way first: Cybertruck 2077.
Elon Musk‘s new vehicle got introduced, but with difficulties – we’ll get back to this subject later. Musk wrote seven years ago on Twitter that he wants to create a super truck with „crazy torque, dynamic air suspension and corners like its [sic] on rails.” How is this related to anything? Well, Cyberpunk 2077’s Twitter account wrote that they „had a deal, Elon,” to which the head of Tesla responded with „See ya in 2077 ;)”. So it means CD Projekt RED‘s next game (which will launch on April 16 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC) might feature the car.
The vehicle costs 39 thousand dollars for the single motor version which can get a good 250 miles of range; it can tow 7,500 pounds, and it goes 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds. There’s a more expensive version for 49 thousand, and it can get 300 miles of range, tow 10,000 pounds and is capable of hitting 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds. A 69,900-dollar model will have over 500 miles of range. It looks like the Warthog from the Halo games, doesn’t it?
Now, about that problematic reveal. Tesla Cybertruck will have armoured glass, which was demoed by Musk and co on the podium. What if they didn’t do it? The first demo promptly cracked the glass with a metallic ball. After some deadly, awkward silence and painful laughter, the second demo also ended up with the same result. Oh, and the person who happened to showcase the glass was none other than Franz von Holzhausen, the design director of Tesla. OUCH! (No wonder Tesla’s stocks dropped by 6.3% to that.)
Let’s hope that Cyberpunk 2077 will not have this issue with the car if it does end up having it.
