Half-Life: Alyx: G-Man Speaks After 12 Years Of Silence [VIDEO]

Half-Life: Alyx – The mysterious G-Man also promotes Valve‘s next big game – how did they pull this maneuver off?

„Should old acquaintances be forgot, then, after so much… time. Some things can prove difficult to remember. See you in the new year. And, do prepare for… consequences, hrm? Mhm,” G-Man says in the video below:

The video was posted by Mike Shapiro. In case you don’t know him, he’s the voice actor behind G-Man in Half-Life. He quickly got the hang of the old tricks: unusual speech patterns, a stilted tone, and haunting background noise are the three things we’d describe the half-minute monologue above with. It promotes Half-Life: Alyx, which is easily one of the most anticipated games of the current year. (We have to get used to 2020 after all…) We have already seen G-Man in the announcement trailer, but he still is a constant in Half-Life, as Alyx has changed voice actors, and the series has moved from PC to VR (which feels unusual for now).

Half-Life: Alyx will launch in March, and it will require a VR-headset, such as a Valve Index (you get the game for free if you buy one), a HTC Vive, an Oculus Rift (S), an Oculus Quest (although it will require the Oculus Touch controllers, plus a link cable to your PC), or Windows’ Mixed Reality devices. The game is now 10% off: it costs 45 bucks instead of 50.
