Not just The Last of Us Part II and Marvel’s Iron Man VR are games that are delayed – there’s a big possibility that Call of Duty 2020 might also join.
TheGamingRevolution – who knew about Call of Duty: Warzone (a free-to-play battle royale that quickly turned successful with millions of players) and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered before their announcement – wrote on Twitter that the updated version of the story of the 2009 CoD game (which includes the No Russian mission, causing the game to not be sold on the Russian PlayStation Store once again…) was a test by Activision Blizzard to see how the community reacts to its release. He doesn’t like likes: he believes the publisher is lying when they say that they don’t work on the multiplayer of the game (because they say they want to add more levels to the multiplayer to the 2019 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare). He believes when the multiplayer is launched, the publisher will say they saw the community’s feedback. According to his source, the multiplayer is being tested, which means it is in development.
The multiplayer won’t arrive immediately though, so it’s not going to drop at the end of the 30-day exclusivity (because, as we guessed correctly, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered’s campaign is exclusive to the PlayStation until late April!), so the publisher can say that they just started working on it, which would mean Activision Blizzard wouldn’t be called a liar.
Regarding the 2020 Call of Duty, he believes the worldwide lockdown due to the pandemic could cause that this year’s game – which is unannounced at the moment – would be delayed, as he has never seen such a worldwide lockdown. It means the new Call of Duty game for the year would be Warzone, and it would look awkward if there’s no main game at the end of the year but in early 2021 (and then another one at late 2021…).
We’ll see – a delay looks plausible.
