Ready Or Not: A Possible Parity Between The PlayStation 5 And PC

Ready or Not is a hardcore tactical FPS that is being developed by VOID Interactive. It would be on the same quality level on the PlayStation 5 and PC, and they also believe the haptic feedback technology would bring the shooting experience to a whole new level.

Ready or Not is currently being alpha tested by its backers. However, the game should be in beta on Steam by June, and if things go right, the game should be „complete” by the end of the year, with a Q4 2020 (October-November) release window planned. VOID Interactive has previously expressed interest about a console port, and Julio Rodriguez, the managing director of the studio, told the Official PlayStation Magazine (quoted by WCCFTech) that they don’t rule out a PlayStation 5 version.

„The specs allow for a broader range of games to be able to approach the console market. It could make the PlayStation 5 potentially have graphical and framerate parity with the PC build of Ready or Not, which excites us. Our game design will lend itself to run excellently on the PlayStation 5. We are currently achieving 80-plus frames per second on mid-range devices,” Rodriguez says. The PS5 supports up to 120 frames per second.

He also mentioned the haptics feedback in the new controller, which is now called DualSense instead of DualShock 5: „This can bring an extra dimension to shooting and/or being shot at or suppressed.” What about the SSD and ray tracing? „Loading times haven’t been an issue for us but games have been traditionally quite slow on consoles to load in. Raytracing will be a big boost and big players like NVIDIA are proving very willing to partner with developers to make it happen on PC,” Rodriguez said.

So the PlayStation 5 might be getting Ready or Not, but they haven’t confirmed it yet. Clever.
