Guerrilla Games Is Looking For A Senior Writer: Is Horizon Zero Dawn 2 Coming?

The Dutch studio has to be developing something. Officially, we don’t know what it is yet, but we have a few ideas…

On Twitter, Guerrilla Games has a job listing account, which is a clever idea, we’ll give them that. „Is this your storyline? Is mission, quest writing and narrative design your forte? Guerrilla is looking for a Senior (Game) Writer to join our talented team in Amsterdam,” the tweet reads. That description sounds like something seen in an open-world game. Guess what the PlayStation 4-exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn was in February 2017? An open-world action-RPG… and the GIF in the tweet is also from that game.

We’ve been suspecting for a while that the Dutch team is working on expanding Aloy’s story, and even back then, we wrote this game will be a PlayStation 5 title. Now, about 7 months from the PS5’s launch, we can say we were right on that front. Of course, Guerrilla Games – whose engine, Decima, was used by Hideo Kojima in Death Stranding, which launched in November on PlayStation 4; the PC port got delayed, and we wrote about that recently – can doubt us.

They could be working on a Killzone. The newest game in the series was the PlayStation 4 launch title Killzone Shadow Fall. A few months before that, also in 2013, we had Killzone: Mercenary on the PlayStation Vita, but that was developed by Killzone Cambridge. (This studio got closed in 2017. Before Guerrilla stepped in, they created MediEvil…)

However, Horizon Zero Dawn sold over ten million copies by February 2019, so that has to be a big enough figure for Sony not to ignore it. Yet, we have to see how Guerrilla will work without its former head, Hermen Hulst, who has since been promoted to lead Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios (he took Shuhei Yoshida’s post in November).

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
