The Last Of Us Part II: The Leaks’ Sources Have Been Caught

Naughty Dog‘s next game’s story has been significantly leaked in the past week or so, and in no time, the devs – teamed up with Sony – have quickly caught who were the sources of the leaked details.

Sony Interactive Entertainment confirmed to Gamesindustry that they managed to identify the sources of the leaks (which consisted of big story details, as well as footage!). Don’t worry about these leaks: we will not discuss them here, so you don’t have to quickly head to the X button in your browser’s tabs. The company added that the sources were outside sources, meaning they were not employees of Sony Interactive Entertainment and Naughty Dog. They did not provide further details, but they are currently subject to an ongoing investigation.

Naughty Dog and Sony have slammed the leakers hard – no matter if it’s YouTube or Twitter, they quickly wiped anything that leaked prematurely of the game that recently got yet another release date. Still, if you want to experience The Last of Us Part II yourself, we recommend you to „have your eyes and ears closed” when browsing Twitter, YouTube or Reddit. There’s nothing worse than running into leaks of a game you anticipate – it mostly ends with cursing.

Speaking of release dates, The Last of Us Part II is now at its THIRD release date. Let’s hope that it is the final one. The PlayStation 4-exclusive game will be available in stores and on the PlayStation Network from June 19. It was pushed from May 29 because the coronavirus global pandemic would have provided challenges in logistics and distribution, meaning the game wouldn’t have been properly available everywhere. (COVID-19 is why Resident Evil 3 Remake and Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 1 broke the street date in Europe.)

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
