Fallout And My Friend Pedro Are Getting TV Adaptations! [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – The Last of Us’ HBO adaptation seems to have launched a resurgence in the game-to-TV adaptations.

Westworld’s creators (Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy) are working on Fallout’s TV adaptation under the Kilter Films banner, collaborating with Amazon Studios to make Bethesda Softworks’ IP on TV a reality, Bethesda announced. They will also be executive producers along with Athena Wickham (Kilter Films), Todd Howard (Bethesda Game Studios), and James Altman (Bethesda Softworks).

Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time. Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends, so we’re incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios,” said Nolan and Joy in a joint statement.

„Over the last decade, we looked at many ways to bring Fallout to the screen. But it was clear from the moment I first spoke with Jonah and Lisa a few years ago, that they and the team at Kilter were the ones to do it right. We’re enormous fans of their work and couldn’t be more excited to work with them and Amazon Studios,” Howard added.

After your successful landing from that jump, let’s talk about My Friend Pedro, which can simply be called „a weapon dance” as one of the surprise indie hits of last summer by Devolver and Dead Toast Productions. It’s getting a TV show, partially by dj2 Entertainment. This company was the producer behind this year’s Sonic film. dj2 seems to have a lot of ideas about the game-to-TV adaptations, as they are also developing something for Disco Elysium, another outstanding game…

Hollywood Reporter writes that dj2 are working with Legendary Television and 87North Productions on My Friend Pedro, which will be getting an R rating (under 17, it requires accompanying parent or adult guardian; the second-highest rating), which makes sense, as its writer and one of its executive producers will be Derek Kolstad. He happens to be the creator of John Wick… and here are the other executive producers: David Leitich (87North – John Wick co-director), Kelly McCormick, Howard Bliss, Stephan Bugaj, Dimitro Johnson (all four from dj2), and Mike Wilson (Devolver Digital co-founder).

Both adaptations are in an early stage (which is why they don’t have a release date/window), and My Friend Pedro has to be in an early stage due to its fresh announcement.
