Epic Games Store has taken a big step forward – they’ve decided to introduce a kind of trophy system to reward players.
For now, it will only work on select games and may present technical problems.
What is promised is a debt unpaid, they say, and one of the (many) outstanding accounts that the Epic Games Store had with its users is the integration of an achievement system similar to the one we have today on PlayStation Network, Xbox Live or, of course, Steam. It took a long wait, but finally, the developers of Fortnite have brought this feature to their platform.
Keep in mind, though, that it is only a beta, and therefore still needs some polishing. “Some games from the Epic Games Store may start showing achievements as you unlock them,” says the North American team on Twitter. “This is an early version of the feature, and you can expect changes and tweaks. We will have more information to share about future achievements, so stay tuned!”

In the absence of knowing all the compatible games, for now, we settle for knowing that ARK: Survival Evolved, the only one that has been used to demonstrate how EGS achievements work on video, is among them. Two years after its premiere, the Epic Games Store has added such basic things as the wish list, the shopping cart or these achievements, but it still has a lot of work ahead to reach Steam that has years of advantage. Without going any further, Valve is already working on a new way to sign up for betas directly from their client.
