The Last of Us Part II – Grounded / Permadeath Difficulty

The Grounded Difficulty and the Permadeath Mode trophy have appeared in The Last of Us Part II – both will be a must-have for masochists!

Although The Last of Us Part II is often a very tense experience, we wouldn’t call it a cruelly big challenge. You see, something we wouldn’t even begin, even if we’d get paid. One after which we tear our hair to the last strand. Yeah, like with those brutal Souls-like stuff. Well, if there was anyone who wanted to go through the calvary of our heroes with nerves that were strained to the point of acne – if the tension so far hadn’t been enough anyway – they can do it now by making the gameplay almost unplayable.

With TLOU2 offering plenty of stealth options, it was often easy to knock out opponents – much easier than in the first part. Well, Naughty Dog is now thinking of those who missed the ruthless gameplay out of the game, as the new trophies seem to refer to Grounded difficulty and Permadeath, the ultimate mode of death. (Yeah, your save goes to hell once you die!) The evidence can be found below:

For those who had never played the original game: Grounded was a way specifically made for The Last of Us in which, with a realistic approach, we had far less material to craft, no HUD display, no superpowers like looking-through-walls by our hearing, however, there were super-strong, clever monsters and human enemies alike.

At the same time, we are sure that Permadeath does not need to be explained: it is exactly what it sounds like. If you combine the two difficulties, a brain teaser is guaranteed, but at least a near-unplayable game… Personally, thank you I would pass, but we’re not the same…

So, you were just thinking about trying the game now that the dust of controversy has cleared around it?
